Good Good Father

You’re a good good father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You’re a good good father Chris Tomlin

I love this song, it speaks to my very core.

Romans 8:15

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.”

Before I was 2 my parents divorced and my relationship with my father wasn’t as good as it should have been or could have been. I would say it was lacking in many ways.

The word father can stir up lots of ideas for people and as to what they think and feel. For some it’s warm happy memories, trips, important events, etc. But for others it’s the complete opposite. It’s one of hurt, pain, rejection, and not being there. I would say I fit into this category and if this is you let me just say while I know it’s easy to think your Heavenly Father is just like your earthly father but this is so far from the truth.

Your Heavenly Father created you on purpose! He loves you with an everlasting love. He calls you beautiful, holy, righteous. He will NEVER EVER abandon you. You are the apple of his eye, his beautiful masterpiece. He would never hurt you or reject you.

But you say to yourself “How could He ever love someone such as myself? I’ve made so many mistakes.”

God is not only your Creator but also your Father but even more than that he’s a Good Good Father. He’s cares for you and has a plan and purpose for your life. Plans to prosper and not harm. Plans to give you a hope and future.

Sweet friend do you believe with your whole heart you are loved and a child of God?

The Word- Get it on the inside.

Romans 5:1; “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I Corinthians 2:9; “No one has seen, or heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love him.”

Galatians 5:22; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

John 14:27; “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

1 Peter 5:7; “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Hebrews 4:16; “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

John 11:25 – 26; “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Psalm 103:4 -5; “who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Begin to memorize the Word, try and apply it to your everyday life. If you can only do one that’s fine. Just study it, say it out loud, repeat it over and over. Let get down on the inside of you, and it I’ll come back to you when you need it.

Have you always trusted God? Or is there something you are in need of but you believe God will do it for someone else but not you? I know I’ve been that person. I thought God didn’t care about what I needed or what happened to me. I believed for others I just didn’t believe he loved me enough to do it for me.

In the beginning I spoke of how my relationship with my earthly father wasn’t very good when I was younger but our because we serve a Good Good Father what was once broken has been restored. We go on trips together, I had my first Christmas with my dad that I can remember this past year. We talk and text all the time. See He’s a God of restoration. He’s into giving back what the enemy has stolen from you. A double portion baby!

My prayer is that You would know Jesus, feel and sense His presence in your time of need. Pour out your heart to him. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep on knocking sweet friend! He loves His sons and daughters and watching over them and will perfect that which concern you. Because that’s just what a Good Good Father does.

Galatians 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.”

Big hugs,

Nicole💗
